Cambridgeshire County Council are holding a public consultation on the future of their household recycling centres, Thriplow is our nearest. They are planning a series of cost cutting measures that will undoubtably affect the service. To this end they are holding a consultation exercise to gather your views. This runs until 26 September.
The questionnaire is on-line, takes just a few minutes and is your opportunity to have your say. Simply follow this link.
The consultation focuses on residents’ current use of the service and their thoughts on the options being considered – which range from closing sites; transferring them to charitable or voluntary organisations; reduction in hours and days of operation across all sites; charging for certain DIY waste streams; and limiting the use of sites to larger vehicles to deter trade waste use.
The consultation will run alongside surveys being undertaken by AmeyCespa on their behalf at all of the nine household recycling centres (HRCs) within Cambridgeshire (Alconbury, Bluntisham, Milton, March, St Neots, Thriplow, Whittlesey, Wisbech and Witchford) to ensure users of the service can have their say.
If you use the service then please respond.Continue reading
