Babraham will mark the hundredth anniversary of the Armistice: this was the formal ending of World War I at 11.00am on 11 November 1918.
Morning Service in the High Street, Babraham
Sawston Youth Group Marching Band will leave from Babraham School to the Village Memorial at 12.00.
Revd Alan Partridge will lead a short service with laying of wreaths at 12.30. Cllr Jane Goody will lay a wreath on behalf of the Parish Council.
The band will return to the School after the Service.
Evening commemoration in Church Lane, Babraham
In conjunction with St Peter’s Church and Babraham Research Campus and the Parish Council, Revd Alan Partridge will host a short ceremony in Church Lane, Babraham.
At 18.20, a beacon will be lit and, at 18.30, Revd Alan Partridge will read a First World War poem and sing a Carol to mark the end of hostilities 100 years ago.
We welcome all Parishioners to attend either event.

The Babraham Research campus have organised Babraham Bat Night to take place on Thursday 16th August. Join them for a BBQ and guided walk around the campus to learn all about the bats living on site.
The BBQ is at 6:30pm at the bar followed by a talk and walk led by Iain Webb of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northants Wildlife Trusts. Bat detectors and provided for the walk. Friends, family and children are all welcome.
