UK Power Networks will be carrying out essential construction works in the local area, which involves installation of an underground 11kV cable from Sawston Primary substation, through the villages of Sawston and Babraham, to a connection point located adjacent to the A1307. This is to reinforce the local electricity network.
The works will commence in the next few days and will take approximately 6 months to complete, and will be carried out on UKPN’s behalf by McNicholas. The project should have no impact on your electricity supply. Should you experience a power cut at any time, please call the power cut helpline on 105.
There has also been a Q&A drop in session arranged for villagers to attend to answer any questions or queries you may have. Please feel free to come along to discuss and take a look at the proposed programme, cabling route, site plans, traffic movement and the affected areas, at:
The George Inn, 43 High St, Babraham, Cambridge, CB22 3AG between 3pm and 6pm on Thursday 3rd August 2017
If you can’t make the date above, there will an enquiry phone line set up before the works commence, or please email Julie Seal at firstname.lastname@example.org
