Works In Village – Electricity Supply to Granta Park

There will be some work done over coming weeks to feed a new power supply from Sawston substation to Granta Park which will impact the village. The contractor doing the work will shortly be arranging a drop in session to inform residents of the work being done. See below information from UKPN:

UKPN run the electricity network delivering power to your area & in partnership with their contractor McNicholas, will be commencing trial hole excavation works in your area shortly.  This is to prove the route we will be taking during our main works which are scheduled to be carried out in February next year.  Our works should have no impact on your electricity supply.  There will be approximately 13 trial holes carried out along the route & these will be mainly in the carriageway.  Each trial hole should take no longer than 3 days & will be carried out using stop & go signs.  We have been working closely with Cambridgeshire Council to ensure minimum impact to residents during this time.
